MAY 23 -
OPENING RECEPTION :
Saturday May 23rd 7-11PM
When we entered the palace several images had vanished right away. True chameleons, they can travel along walls with ease so this was no surprise. They dislike direct sunlight so are usually found in controlled climates like this one. When it grew dark there seemed to be some excitement. They are not easily caught but those that are can be interesting to observe. They began to produce erratic and unsuspected taps and creaks. The longer I looked, the more they fascinated me. In this fascination there was a curious element hardly to be classified or accounted for. They look real only from a distance, the closer we are the more unreal they become until they disappear altogether.
